On Sale Issue with Variable Items

Q: I am trying to make one of my items on sale but it won't let me since it's a variable item. If I change it to simple it will go on sale. How do I fix this? I used to just put a sale price under simple and then switch back to variable but now when I switch it to variable it automatically erases the sale price.

A: Sale prices should be entered on the variation tab for each variation.
