How about a csv. import plugin?
Hi, i'm really excited about Jigoshop and simply can't wait to
get rid of the dreadfull wp e-commerce which i am currently using
on my site: www.comenzidepiese.ro.
The thing is that i have to import hundreds of products+images(auto
parts) in my shop and on wp e-commerce this is fixed.
I am trying to develop a csv. import plugin, but i don't have alot
of time to spare right now and i'm also a total php noob.
How about a paid extension that does this?

Sounds like its a problem with your csv file. What are you using as a column seperator? , or | or somethinv else? Just make sure you enter the correct on. try using my example as I know that worked for me.

Thank you for all of your help!
Am I being a total idiot? To set up my csv file, do I need to have commas in each cell. My csv is attached.
And is there an option to include sale prices too?
Thanks again!!

Hi everyone,
I'm showing my lack of excel knowledge here. Can someone show or tell me how to set up my excel spread sheet that is in columns to one that uses commas.
Thanks everyone,
Steve

Regarding commas in Excel files, I haven't used the plugin yet but generally you just need to go to File - Save as - save as type = CSV. That stands for "comma separated values" with a comma separator being placed between each column automatically.

That is a good news. Question, can I upload any product with variations? and import tags?
Thank you.

Theres no support for variations which for most people is the whole reason
a CSV import would be useful. If I wanted just a csv import for reg
products, there are 3 free CSV importers that work in Jigoshop in the
WordPress Plugin area.

@chriscct7 -- which Wordpress CSV importer do you think works best? Thanks!

For importing variations we could say it is "must have" for Premium
plugin...

Agreed. It is definitely a must have for a premium plugin. The whole point
is you are paying for the premium feature. The only unique feature is
variations. I use colin's plugin, which is a mediafire link buried
somewhere in this thread, around I think the 38th response. had to make a
few mods to meet the needs of my client.
This new plugin is very disappointing.

Hi Pearl, I'll be implementing variation support as soon as possible as it is clear the community requires this feature.
My import Plugin (Product Importer Deluxe) handles the generation of Categories and Tags by populating the Tag and Category column in your spreadsheet file. Using the multiple Category separator - by default it is '|' (pipe) - you can assign multiple Tags and Categories to a Product.
For example.
Product Name: Tropical Fruit
Tag: Food|Fruit|Exotic|Australia
Category: Fruit & Produce>Fruit>Exotic>Australia|Specials
This will assign 'Tropical Fruit' to the Fruit & Produce category and specified child Categories as well as to the Specials Category. The Product will also be assigned to the specified Tags.
I'm sending the Jigowatt screenshots to better explain the capabilities of this Plugin and welcome feature suggestions going forward. Hope this helps. :)

For anyone else that needs variation import and a bunch of other features in a CSV plugin, check out the Product CSV Suite:
