Partial Payments with Google Checkout

I notice in this blog post (http://jigoshop.com/blog/2011/09/15/new-google-checkout-plugin-for-...) it is mentioned that Google Checkout supports partial payments for deposits/pre-orders. Presumably this means the feature is supported in the Google Checkout payment gateway extension. I'd just like to confirm that it is, and wondered how you go about setting up partial payments.
