Adding Product Data to other Post Types

I'm currently doing a product for a big brand and they have lots of post types for press clippings, tips etc and want to include products on these pages also, the shortcode is a great solution for currently displaying them but would love a dropdown solution, I've purchased the up-sells/cross sells plugin and also the accessories, but can't add them to another post type page for them to select products from a drop down or search box. Just wondering about the possibility of adding the Product Data box inside of another post type?

Browsed around plugin files changing post type to another name but to no avail, happy to pay for a solution.
