Custom SEO Text for Product Categories / Product Archives - Pages with pagination and sorting
Hi everyone,
I am new here ;)
I want to run jigoshop on one of my projects and came across a couple of severe problems...especially in regard to using jigoshop in a SEO optimized shop:
Is it possible to add custom content to jigoshop product categories (ie. product archives)? In terms of adding SEO content to each category, so users from google will initially land on the product category to browse through items. I did not find a way to achieve this: woocommerce does support some sort of short description for product categories (which is shown above the products), but this cannot substitute actual, comprehensive description...possibly also custom graphics.
The workaround would be to use the wordpress theme's static page (which yes, is 100% flexible), however, when adding in the products from the woocommerce product category via shortcode (e.g. [product_category category="ABC" per_page="20" columns="4" order="desc"]), the most relevant shop functions are NOT supported, namely: User Sorting (so by price, title and date). If the shortcode would allow me to replicate the product category 1 to 1, then my problems were solved...I'd simply hide the actual woocommerce product categories and replicate them on my theme's pages.
Please tell me there is a way to add sorting when adding in a category's products via shortcode :D
I really like jigoshop...and if the above cannot be done easily, I will most certainly find somebody to custom code this function into my theme. I think in order to run a SEO optimized shop, this function is a must.
Thanks so much for your feedback and thoughts,
Peter

oops, I realized I wrote "woocommerce" a couple of times :D
This is the alternative plugin I want to use, sorry for the mixup!
I hope jigoshop can give me what I need ;)
Thanks again,
Peter

Hi Peter,
Yep ! SEO categories are possible with this.
So I suppose no workaround necessary?
