Remove /product-category/ from URL
Hey I was wondering if it's possible to remove /product-category/ from the URL.
e.g. domain.com/shop/category/
Cheers, Alex

Yes it is. You will need a third party slug remover, or change your
permalinks to something like: /%postname%/

I've tried the no category base plugin and changing the permalink structure to /%postname%/. No love though... /product-category/ remains in the URL.

Try a plugin, elsewhere on the forum @ivica used one. I'll go look for
one for you.

Hm, Yoast WordPress SEO has one fantastic function in software/Permalink
Settings:
Strip the category base (usually /category/) from the category URL.
But it is not functioning for Jigoshop plugin :-(
And I don't see an alternative to this option in Jigoshop plugin itself...

Yeah, removing wordpress's /category/ base isn't much of a problem. Plenty of simple plugins around that do the trick.
But unfortunately they do not remove the Jigo /product-category/ base.

hi there,
did you ever find a solution to this? i know it can be changed (line 54 of jigoshop_taxonomy.php) but I too want it completely removed.

Maybe this plugin can help you in this?

I found a way to do this:
In the JigoShop "Pages" tab, under "Permalinks", set "Prepend shop categories / tags with base page" to "No" and set the other 2 options to "Yes".
In the same section, set the Product Category Slug to whatever your catalog (shop) base page slug is.
The result is that the product-category slug is still displayed in the url but, since it is the same as the base shop slug (which isn't included on category pages), it appears to go away.

I found another (clean) solution :-)
http://jigoshop.com/extend/jigoshop-seo-deluxe-plugin/
The features include:
- *Product Category Base URLs* – change or remove ‘product-category’
from urls.
