Hey Hi.

I'm trying to use the USPS Shipping Calc Plugin with no success , I called USPS to change from TEST to Production Server, I configure the plugin as it says, I mean the USER ID is the same as the USER NAME in USPS WEBTOOLS?.

Well, everything seems to be right , but when I check , there is no Shipping cost , no calculation at all....

What am I doing wrong?? , could somebody give a hand.

Thanks

As stated on the below Forum discussion link:

"There are a few things that you'll want to check:
    1. Do you have a username and password setup at http://ups.com
    2. Do you have a ups API key in good standing? Can be obtained through
    http://ups.com
    3. Do you have an active UPS Account Number?
    4. Do the products have weights assigned?

All of those credentials can be obtained for free through the UPS website
if you don't have them. If you already have an account number and are
shipping UPS, you might want to contact your account representative as
well. They'll make sure that your account is matched up to the UPS username
    and password."

@Locke Thank you very much on your kind words, but I don't think I'm a
genius, far from that :-) I'm just well organized and very, very
persistent.... Glad this advice helped you!

The question was for USPS not UPS and I would like to know as well because I am having the same problem.

Dito on what @llihcruhc said. I have all 4 steps correct and still no luck. I don't think I should have to pay more for support for a plugin Jigoshop developed that i payed for that doesn't work...

So I realized that each product has to have dimensions and a weight for the USPS plugin to work. You also have to make sure that on the "products & inventory" tab that "Enable product dimensions" is set to yes.

That is quite strange because I have used USPS live rates with other carts and I have never needed dimensions.

Well I am at a loss, just went through and updated all of the products with proper dimension values and still no love. What else could the issue be?? Thought it might be due to a plugin conflict but tested that and no luck either...

you put in weights as well? and checked the "products & inventory" tab?

That is correct, you actually have to check the 'Enable product dimensions' tab to even be able to input dimensions. I have double checked each product like 4 times now. I am using variations on some products and have inputted individual values for those as well... I am at a loss. Looks like we are going to have to pay more $$ to get the support we need for a plugin we already payed for. NOT HAPPY.

Are your dimensions in Inches? USPS goes only by inches, that is the only other thing I can think of.

That is correct, and I actually tested both unit measures to no effect. I am also using UPS plugin which works fine and thought there might be a conflict there but that wasn't the case... I am going to try a re-install of the USPS plugin again and see if that does anything.

Updated plugin still no luck :( So Jigoshop, you going to make me purchase support to get help with your plugin I paid for?... Off to Twitter to vent my frustration...

@djwinner, we are sorry to hear that you are unable to configure your extension to work. I can see from comments above that others have the extension working as expected which leads me to think that this is a config issue rather than a software issue. I will also add that this is a community forum where Jigo users are encouraged to help each other, rather than the paid for jigoshop support.

Can you confirm that you have followed all of the steps in the readme file?

Thank you llihcruhc!!! I have posted my exact same problem already and no one answered. I also bought the TRS extension and just sat down to slog through all the configuring so that I could have some sort of shipping available, when I tried one more time to find any other thread on my problem. I had gone through all product, made sure it all had weight, price, dimensions in all the correct
measuring units.... but I didn't know about making sure that in the "products & inventory" tab that "Enable product dimensions" is set to yes. Developers, this should be in the read only text file attached to the extension download. Such an easy thing to overlook (or not understand for us non-code people) and once enabled, my shipping is working.

@jigoshop yes, I have followed all of the steps, have been placed on USPS production server, inputted the user name they gave us and have updated all weights and dimensions accordingly. Still no luck. The UPS plugin works fine but no luck with he USPS plugin you guys developed and I paid for...

Got it to work!! It appears that while we were on the production server we hadn't been given access to the correct Rate API. I recommend clarifying this in your documentation so users know to ask USPS for that API access as it wasn't given to us off the bat. Cheers.
