product shortcode inside product description does interesting things

I added a shortcode to show the product, (earrings) in the description of another product. but when you click the image for the earrings all that happens is the description box becomes blank. I've tried adding target blank to the links with jquery and that didnt help either.

Yeah, I noticed this, too... and it also happened when I tried to put use Jquery (for a Slidetoggle on a div) in the description area, did the exact same thing.

what's strange is I can make the same link to the product just as a text link and it works just fine. So it must be something funky with how the shortcode is added.

No doubt. Interestingly, the short code version of (another) product in a given product's description area will let you use the add to cart.

Good question. On a similar note... after finding it on this forum, I tried out the 'category' short codes prior to their official release in the current update (I'm running one version behind) and, unlike how you might expect items in a given category to work, the displayed items defaulted to the chosen number of items you have in JS setup... as opposed to auto-paginating (as I had hoped they would do). I don't know if this has been addressed in the current version.

I upgraded to the latest version which is very nice (really... GREAT job, guys!) I'm still trying to figure out what's causing this issue, though. Putting a product's short code in the description panel does let you 'add' the item the the cart but you can't 'go' to the item's page. When you try clicking the text or image the description panel collapses (as noted above)... unfortunately I can't seem trace the source of the problem.

I don't think it is the shortcode. This is related to the same problem I have where links inside descriptions or reviews that are within a li taq will not work. (View your page source to see that there is a li for the earrings).
They must have missed a closing li somewhere in the code.
I hope they fix this.
